What we do

At Artemis,  we aim to make life more enjoyable for our clients.

We’re on hand to help older people who may find the stress of getting around a real challenge and don’t want to have to rely on friends and family.

Or no matter what age you are, if you’re recovering from illness and struggle with the demands of everyday life, we’re there to support you too.

And we’re there to assist loving families who find it a challenge to offer a helping hand to family members determined to maintain their independence.

Often spouses take the role of carer for their ailing partner and they are sometimes forgotten about. We’re there to step in and give them time for a well-earned break and chance to continue living their own life too.

Artemis Services include

  • Accompaniment to medical, opticians and dental appointments
  • Shopping trips
  • Errand running
  • Trips to hairdressers
  • Social activities such as country walks, eating out and visiting friends
  • To recreational classes
  • Accompaniment to church services
  • To family events such as birthdays, weddings etc

Companionship and Support for Older People

For many of us, the older we get, the more our mobility becomes an issue. We might suffer from ill health and we can no longer drive or we simply no longer have the confidence to face getting about on our own. Trying to deal with his can be challenging and stressful.  As a result, often we shut ourselves away becoming isolated, detached and feeling all alone.

At Artemis, we’re dedicated to helping you enjoy life more.  This means we strive to keep you connected and in touch with everything that makes life more enjoyable whether that means catching up with friends or just having someone to talk to.

As part of our commitment to you, you will be treated with courtesy, respect and dignity every step of the way. After all, your happiness and well being is at the forefront of everything we do for you.

We’re there for those recovering from or coping with illness

Coping or recovering from an illness can have a significant impact on day-to-day life and on the ability to remain connected with friends and relatives. Illness can leave us feeling weak and fragile, both physically and mentally. Often this results in us remaining behind closed doors while we recover. This can lead to isolation and loneliness.

At Artemis, we’re committed to helping you stay in touch with friends and family, and keep you plugged in to the life you had before your illness. At the same time you can be certain our caring and considerate companion will always be there to do what is best for you in helping you enjoy life more.

Support for families

Many families can find it a struggle to balance the demands of busy day-to-day living with helping older parents and family members get around and maintain their independence.

Our caring companions are here to offer a safe alternative and get your loved one from ‘a to b’ carefully and securely. This leaves you with peace of mind that they are safe, happy and are being well looked after by a safe, caring and reliable companion.

“Our father has been going out with the Artemis team for about 2 years now. He enjoys the company and chat. As a family we are confident that he is being looked after in a professional manner and getting time out of the house that we would struggle to be able to provide."

“Mair & Frank provide a very special service for my Mum who suffers from the onset of dementia. Prior to Artemis becoming involved by Mum was unable to get out during the week. Now Frank and Mair take turns in taking Mum out 5 days a week which has made a huge difference to her quality of life. Mair has a detailed knowledge of care and the associated challenges that come with it and is always able to guide us through issues that arise. I cannot recommend the services of Frank, Mair and Artemis highly enough.”

“Frank takes my dad out three times a week. This has proven to be great for all the family as we are comfortable that my Dad is being well cared for. My dad obviously enjoys these trips and genuinely looks forward to them. I think he now looks on Frank as a friend rather than a carer. We would highly recommend the services of Artemis”

“I cannot speak highly enough of Artemis. Over time the Artemis team have become like an extended family and have improved my Mum's quality life immeasurably. She loves the company and has regained the confidence she lost when she had multiple strokes. What I love most is that as they have gotten to know my Mum they have tailored care and events to make every day special. From simple gestures like birthday cakes to arranging special trips to concerts, I cannot fault a thing."

“I cannot rate Mair highly enough for the care and friendship she has provided for our Aunt. So much so that she now thinks of Mair as part of our family! She is utterly trustworthy and reliable and as Auntie has said ‘she is an angel sent from above”

“I would like to express my sincere appreciation of the “befriending service” that you provide for my dad. His dementia is now very severe and your continued support helps so much with keeping him happy and at home. You are always professional, reliable and flexible. On behalf of all our family, but especially my mum, I would like to thank you for the friendly and conscientious care that you provide. We just want you to know how much we value you.”

“Mum's rapidly advancing Alzheimer's has been such a challenge. Mair's gentle, fun and empathetic approach to Mum's requests and needs means they are not just companion and client but great friends as they enjoy lovely times together. I have total peace of mind when mum is with Mair who is patient and kind in every aspect of her role. I would happily recommend Mair's services to anyone who needs personal support for their loved one."

“I cannot recommend Mair highly enough. She has shown the utmost kindness and sensitivity to my parents. Mair is incredibly caring with exceptionally high standards and attention to detail. Mair always arrives with a ready smile and radiates warmth and good humour. When she is helping my parents it only ever feels like a good friend is visiting with ready conversation. Laughter is never far away. I trust Mair completely. There is no-one I would rather have to help with my parents”.
